Celebrating Jazz on Central Avenue, Barbara Morrison, and Ernie Andrews

On Saturday, August 6th from 3-5 pm, KJazz, in collaboration with Councilman Curren Price’s office, is celebrating Jazz on Central Avenue and the legacies of Barbara Morrison and Ernie Andrews. The free concert will be hosted by Jose Rizo and feature trombonist Ryan Porter, who is a co-founding member of the jazz, funk, hip-hop collective West Coast Get Down. He’ll be joined by special guest vocalists Dwight Trible and Darynn Dean. The concert will take place at the Bandshell at The Barry White Recreation Center at South Park.

Free parking is available at Dr. Maya Angelou Community High School 300 E 53rd Street (enter the parking garage from E. 52nd Street). Closes at 5:30pm sharp.
