“If I Were a Bird” : A Jazz Piano Concert With Sabine
Musicians have found inspiration from an incredible variety of sources - love, of course, but also nature, cityscapes, even the weather. Jazz pianist Sabine Pothier noticed that there are a large number of jazz standards that are inspired by birds, and chose that as the theme for this concert. You’ll hear tunes both popular and obscure as well as some of Sabine’s own compositions at this concert by a master performer who has studied and performed internationally.
Russian-born Sabine is a graduate of the Gneisin school in Moscow, the Boston Conservatory, and the USC Thornton School of Music. Her awards include winning the Liszt Los Angeles International Competition, the IBLA Grand prize in Italy, the MTNA regional in Minneapolis, and the Concerto competition at the Boston conservatory. She has released four albums both solo and with a trio, and has played prestigious venues worldwide.
This show is in an intimate venue, and will also be livestreamed using our three camera system in high definition. The livestream will be available for purchasers to watch for one week after the event, so if you are in a different time zone or busy when it is happening, you'll be able to see it.
