A night of jazz with MishCatt

Vera's Heartbeat presents the second edition of "A night of jazz with MishCatt," MishCatt is the alter ego and artistic pseudonym of the sensational Costa-Rican singer Michelle Gonzalez.

MishCatt will perform North-American and Latin Jazz standards with amazing local musicians: iconic Angeleno bassist John Leftwich, Cuban guitarist Roberto Luis, Brazilian producer and pianist Mika Mutti, and Brazilian drummer Lucio Vieira.

Singer, songwriter and artist who rose to Costa Rican fame as the singer and composer of the popular band, Patterns, before pursuing a solo career. Her debut EP, “Highlighter”, was released independently in 2016. The EP has since gained more than 30 million streams, and Michelle has become the most streamed artist in Costa Rica. Recorded in Sweden with Pontus Winnberg (world renowned songwriter/ producer and member of Miike Snow). Her latest collaborations "Domino" and "Domino Acoustic version", were released spring 2019 with Producer/ DJ "Whoisfiyah".

She is now working on her follow-up solo music projects.

Inspired by cultural icons like David Bowie, Prince, and Madonna, she works to blend art, fashion, and visual design with her music. A unique combination of 80s nostalgia and space odyssey psychedelia, MishCatt’s experiential world and unique sound are unforgettable and unlike any other.

Growing up in Province San Jose, she was deeply immersed into a creative environment via her father (acclaimed jazz pianist) and mother (actress/singer). At the age of 14, she developed a great appreciation for jazz and bossa nova music; deriving inspiration from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Joao Gilberto etc.

Michelle spent most of her formative years in her dad's studio composing music, singing and expressing art in cinematography, photography and dancing. She currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
