Los Angeles native Chris Powe is an exciting new voice on the alto saxophone. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, where he studied under Tia Fuller and Gregory Groover, Powe first honed his craft at the Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center in Leimert Park—the heart of LA’s Black creative community. He has performed throughout Boston, New York, and Los Angeles, holding local residencies and commanding stages across the city. Join us as he performs music from his recently released EP, The Search, along with arrangements and covers by legendary Los Angeles saxophonists. With surprise guest appearances, this promises an unforgettable night of jazz.
